Local Senedd member, Natasha Asghar, has visited small businesses in Newport to highlight her support for Small Business Saturday tomorrow (December 4).
Natasha visited Lliswerry Stores and the Zero Waste Shop at Tredegar House in the city.
Natasha Asghar said:
Small businesses are the beating hearts of our communities and the very life blood of our economy.”
“They create jobs and provide people with vital goods and services as was apparent during the pandemic lockdown.”
“I am calling on the Welsh Government to continue to support small businesses through changes in procurement policy across the public sector to help them recover from the pandemic.”
“Business rates are the highest costs most small businesses face after rent and wages, placing an excessive burden on them with Welsh businesses paying the highest rates in Great Britain”
“People can play their part in Small Business Saturday by shopping local and helping to keep these vital businesses serving their communities.”
