Residents across South Wales East are being urged to donate Christmas presents to children in hospital this festive season.
Volunteers at Pride in Pill have been gathering gifts which will be distributed to hospitals across South Wales ahead of the big day.
Natasha Asghar MS met with some of the team to find out about the fantastic initiative as they were hard at work wrapping the presents at their HQ in Newport city centre.
The South Wales East politician dropped off some gifts of her own and gave the team a hand with wrapping.
Natasha Asghar MS said: “It was an absolute pleasure to meet with the community-spirited volunteers to find out more about their fantastic Christmas gift appeal campaign.
“These gifts will mean the absolute world to children spending the festive period in hospital and it was great to be able to play my small part in hopefully spreading a bit of festive joy.
“If anyone has a few spare gifts kicking around or would like to support this campaign, please do get in touch with the Pride in Pill team or visit one of the drop-off points.”
Gifts can be dropped off at various locations around Newport including the bus depot, Halifax, Monmouthshire Building Society, Specsavers, Kingsway Barbers, Barclays Bank and Wish Hair Design.
Donations are being accepted until December 14th.
