A competition to find some of the best establishments in Newport has been launched by the area’s Member of the Welsh Parliament.
Natasha Asghar MS is on a mission to find the very best Newport has to offer and is encouraging the city’s residents to get involved.
Residents are being urged to nominate their favourite pub, takeaway, hairdressers, restaurant, salon, and convenience store in Natasha’s Best of Newport 2025 competition.
Members of the public can put forward their businesses of choice by sending the name of the company and a brief overview outlining what makes it the best to [email protected] or by writing to Natasha Asghar MS, Rathbone House, 1 Serpentine Road, Newport, NP20 4PF.
The competition, which launches today, runs until midday on March 31st, 2025.

“We all know that Newport is home to some truly fantastic businesses and this competition is the perfect way to shine a light on them and celebrate them.
“Our local businesses are the lifeblood of many communities and the backbone of our economy, yet they are under severe pressure at the moment so it’s important, now more than ever, we do all we can to support them.
“I want to hear from residents about what makes their favourite haunts so special. It could be the amazing staff, the delicious food or simply because it has a special place in your heart. I can’t wait to see some of the entries.”
