Top car-renting company, Enterprise, gave Natasha Asghar MS the latest rundown on their plans for a shared mobility scheme in Newport.
They’re currently working with a fleet of around 20 cars in Cardiff, providing commuters with the option to drive to work without having to own a car.
This would bring a fantastic opportunity to drive to work without the worry of having to maintain a vehicle.
Plus, you could share lifts with colleagues and split the hire cost – saving on cars on the road and money.
Shared mobility bridges that gap that public transport doesn’t reach. Have you ever tried to figure out a bus route to work and given up?
With Newport’s plans to improve transport infrastructure, shared mobility could offer another option to visitors, commuters, and residents to get around and make the most of the city.
Speaking after the visit, Natasha Asghar MS said:
“Daily commuters need more options than just owning a car or relying on poor public transport networks.
“This really takes the stress out of owning a car, especially if you live somewhere with difficult parking options.
“Not everyone needs to make a journey every day. Sometimes it could just be on the weekends when you want to go somewhere that has poor transport links. This is perfect for those moments.”

Eglurodd y cwmni rhentu ceir blaenllaw, Enterprise, eu cynlluniau diweddaraf i Natasha Asghar AS ar gyfer cynllun rhannu symudedd yng Nghasnewydd.
Ar hyn o bryd maen nhw'n gweithio gyda fflyd o tua 20 o geir yng Nghaerdydd, gan roi dewis i gymudwyr yrru i'r gwaith heb orfod bod yn berchen ar gar.
Bydd hyn yn gyfle gwych i yrru i'r gwaith heb orfod poeni am gynnal a chadw cerbyd.
Hefyd, gallech rannu lifftiau gyda chydweithwyr a rhannu’r gost llogi – gan arbed ar geir ar y ffordd ac arian.
Mae rhannu symudedd yn pontio’r bwlch hwnnw nad yw trafnidiaeth gyhoeddus yn ei gyrraedd. Ydych chi erioed wedi ceisio dod o hyd i lwybr bws i’r gwaith a rhoi’r gorau iddi?
Gyda chynlluniau Casnewydd i wella seilwaith trafnidiaeth, gallai symudedd a rennir gynnig opsiwn arall i ymwelwyr, cymudwyr, a thrigolion symud o gwmpas a gwneud y gorau o’r ddinas.
Tra’n siarad ar ôl yr ymweliad, dywedodd Natasha Asghar AS:
“Mae angen mwy o opsiynau ar gymudwyr dyddiol na bod yn berchen ar gar neu ddibynnu ar rwydweithiau trafnidiaeth gyhoeddus gwael.
“Mae hyn wir yn cael gwared ar y straen o fod yn berchen ar gar, yn enwedig os ydych chi'n byw yn rhywle gyda dewisiadau parcio anodd.
“Nid oes angen i bawb deithio bob dydd. Weithiau efallai mai dim ond ar y penwythnosau y bydd angen i chi fynd i rywle sydd â chysylltiadau trafnidiaeth gwael. Mae hyn yn berffaith ar gyfer yr adegau hynny.”
