Natasha Asghar MS was given an in-depth tour of Welsh Water’s brand new multi-million-pound pumping station in Monmouthshire this week.
The politician, who represents South East Wales in the Welsh Parliament, joined colleagues including Monmouth MS Peter Fox, the Secretary of State for Wales David TC Davies MP and Laura Anne Jones MS for the visit today (Feb 3).
Welsh Water have spent some £34 million on the new Prioress Mill facility in Llanbadoc which will help ensure that some 300,000 people in Newport, Monmouthshire and Cardiff continue to receive top-quality drinking water.
Peter Perry, Chief Executive Officer of Welsh Water, also spoke about some of the considerable investment the company is making to help improve river water quality and outlined just a few of the things they are doing to help customers with the cost-of-living pressures.

“It was fantastic to catch a glimpse of this impressive new facility which will play a crucial role in keeping water flowing to hundreds of thousands of homes across South East Wales and meet the hardworking team behind it all.
“It is evident that Welsh Water is committed to doing all it can to help protect the environment. The new Prioress Mill facility has been designed with that in mind and is a remarkable site.
“There are some new exciting things in the pipeline for South East Wales and the rest of the country and I look forward to working with Welsh Water in the future.”

Cafodd Natasha Asghar AS daith drwyadl o amgylch gorsaf bwmpio newydd sbon gwerth miliynau o bunnoedd Dŵr Cymru yn Sir Fynwy yr wythnos hon.
Ymunodd y gwleidydd, sy’n cynrychioli De Ddwyrain Cymru yn Senedd Cymru, â chydweithwyr gan gynnwys Peter Fox, AS Mynwy, Ysgrifennydd Gwladol Cymru David TC Davies AS a Laura Anne Jones AS yn yr ymweliad heddiw (3 Chwefror).
Mae Dŵr Cymru wedi gwario tua £34 miliwn ar gyfleuster newydd Prioress Mill yn Llanbadog a fydd yn helpu i sicrhau bod tua 300,000 o bobl yng Nghasnewydd, Sir Fynwy a Chaerdydd yn parhau i dderbyn dŵr yfed o’r safon uchaf.
Siaradodd Peter Perry, Prif Weithredwr Dŵr Cymru, hefyd am rywfaint o’r buddsoddiad sylweddol y mae’r cwmni’n ei wneud i helpu i wella ansawdd dŵr afonydd ac amlinellodd ychydig o’r pethau y maent yn eu gwneud i helpu cwsmeriaid gyda phwysau costau byw.
Dywedodd Natasha Asghar AS:
“Roedd yn wych cael cipolwg ar y cyfleuster newydd trawiadol hwn a fydd yn chwarae rhan hanfodol wrth gadw dŵr i lifo i gannoedd o filoedd o gartrefi ar draws De Ddwyrain Cymru a chwrdd â’r tîm gweithgar y tu ôl i’r cyfan.
“Mae’n amlwg bod Dŵr Cymru wedi ymrwymo i wneud popeth o fewn ei allu i helpu i warchod yr amgylchedd. Mae cyfleuster Prioress Mill newydd wedi'i ddylunio gyda hynny mewn golwg ac mae'n safle hynod.
“Mae rhai pethau cyffrous newydd ar y gweill ar gyfer De Ddwyrain Cymru a gweddill y wlad ac rwy’n edrych ymlaen at weithio gyda Dŵr Cymru yn y dyfodol.”
