A little under 300 students were treated to a talk from Natasha Asghar MS recently about her journey into politics and life as a politician.
Natasha, who represents South East Wales, talked to the youngsters at Brynteg School earlier this week about her parents, upbringing, career before entering the political arena and what it is like being a Member of the Welsh Parliament.
She also talked candidly about her experience of being bullied at school and t the scars it left on her, the reasons why she stood for election, as well as diversity in politics and all things transport.
After Natasha’s talk on Monday (Nov 7), the students fired off a series of questions at her including what inspired her to get into politics and what policies she would like to introduce.
Natasha Asghar MS said:
“It was fantastic to be able to speak to Year 7 students at Brynteg School about my life and journey to becoming the Welsh Parliament’s first woman of colour.
“I am only too happy to share my story and do my bit to inspire the next generation to become our next politicians and public figures.
“They asked some great questions and I have no doubt that the pupils at Brynteg will be excelling to greater heights when it comes to their careers and futures.”
