Natasha Asghar, Senedd Member for South East Wales, has hailed the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Newport a “fantastic state-of-the-art venue” following a recent tour of the complex.
Staff at Wales’ first purpose-built conference centre showed Natasha around the 5,000-capacity hub, which boasts a pillar-free exhibition room, a large auditorium and an abundance of meeting rooms.
Natasha talked with the ICC staff about the benefits the centre has already brought to South East Wales since opening in 2019 as well as upcoming events and the centre’s community work.
Following the visit, Natasha Asghar MS said:
“I was blown away by what the International Conference Centre has to offer from its countless meeting rooms, massive exhibition hall and its cutting-edge auditorium.
“The International Convention Centre has already delivered fantastic benefits to South East Wales by staging huge events and drawing in crowds from across the globe, and I have no doubt that the hardworking staff will only build on that success in the days, months and years ahead.
“We are incredibly lucky to have such a fantastic state-of-the-art venue right on our doorstep and I would encourage anyone looking at holding an event to reach out to the ICC team.
“I would just like to thank all the staff for taking the time to show me around and I look forward to working with the centre going forward.”
