Natasha Asghar MS is encouraging everyone eligible to get their flu jab after receiving hers in the Welsh Parliament this week.
Flu can be serious and the vaccine is the best ways to protect yourself from catching and spreading it.
Staff from Community Pharmacy Wales were on hand in the Senedd today (Oct 5) to give MSs and their support staff their winter flu vaccinations.
Pregnant women, people aged over 50, people with long-term health conditions, those who live in a care home, people with learning disabilities and people with severe mental illness are all eligible for a vaccine in Wales.
Schoolchildren, staff working in health and social care, first responders and those living with someone who has a compromised immune system are also advices to get a flu vaccine.
Natasha Asghar, who represents South East Wales, said:
“I would just like to say a huge thank you to Community Pharmacy Wales for giving me my winter flu jab in the Senedd today – their staff were absolutely fantastic.
“As a carer and someone living with a vulnerable adult, it is vital I do all I can to protect myself and those around me from flu this winter.
“If you are eligible for a flu vaccine, please do not hesitate to get it done. It’s a quick and simple process which can help keep you safe.”
